Inside Charlotte features Rodrigo and Wendy of World Dance Center and Charlotte Salsa Tonight
Hey Charlotte Salsa Maniacs,
Tonight on Inside Charlotte (Time Warner Cable Channel 21 at 10:30 pm), we feature Rodrigo and Wendy of World Dance Center and Charlotte Salsa. We explore Salsa and also Tango Nuevo. It is a wonderful show as we celebrated Roxanna's birthday as well. Thanks to all those who came and danced. As you know, Rodrigo is a two time North Carolina Latin Dance Champion, and he and his wife Wendy, will blow you away.
Wendy, in all the previews, you not only are "on the money" with your dancing, but all the women who have previewed the show, say: "wow I love that dress."
As one of the founders of Charlotte Salsa and WDC, and a former chief instructor for Rodrigo, I was so proud of his and Wendy's performance. So much so, that I gave Tim, manager of Cosmos (downtown) a copy, and he is going to play the show in Cosmos much of next week. We will load it up to the website by Monday as well. More details will follow.
Future shows will also include the Ballroom community, starting with Queen City Ballroom (so Tony, Kristine, Dawn and the gang get ready). We are particularly interested in the Salsa Wheel (where salseros dance together).
I will be featured on my own show before the year is out. My style of Salsa is Salse de Soul (that is what I call it). And I now have a great dance partner in Valerie Jaimes. She is a past dance competitor and was a Ballroom dance instructor for 6 years. The woman is badd (and that means good). We teach the Salsa De Soul class together. Come check us out at CenterVibe 1111 Hawthrone Lane. We will be there tonight at 7:30. I thank Enrique for letting me dance with his wife. He even comes to the class. The class is on Thursdays and Fridays and last night we went to Cosmos after class. It was fabulous. After the Friday class we will sometimes go to Latorres (or on Saturday). Thanks to my Carmencita (who is still in Chile) who supports my dancing with Valarie.
I need some more dancing shoes, I have worn my bad boys (my shoes) out. That is how we do it. Well nuff said for now.
See you on the dance floor,
"the Cat and the Hat"
