Mah-Jongg for Everyone!

Hello everyone!! Welcome to, the Mah Jongg for Everyone! group. This page will explain how the group works.

In our Meetup we play, American Mah Jongg. In other words, if you don’t know what a Mah Jongg card is and or don’t play with jokers, then you haven’t played American Mah Jongg and you will need to come first to a “Teaching and Experienced Players Session”. After you have been taught by Cathy (Meetup Organizer), you then are considered an “Experienced” player and can attend any “Experienced Players Session. We try and schedule our teaching sessions in the beginning of the month, alternating between our Chicago and Suburban locations depending on need.

In order to accommodate the geographical location of all interested people, we meet at two locations:
- The KnockBox Café, 1001 N. California, Chicago, IL 60622, (773) 360-8325
- Jason’s Deli, 608 West Touhy Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068, (847)-823-0210

To find out where we are playing please go the RSVP page. No matter where you live, you are welcome to join us at any of our locations.

Notes for the Suburban Meetups. Due to many no-shows,
- We are only accepting Yes or No RSVPs
- We require a prepayment for a YES RSVP, please note no refunds will be given.
- If there are less than 3 YES RSVP’s, the Meetup will be rescheduled and your prepayment will be
applied to the next Meetup you attend. When you want to go to your next Meetup, you will have to contact Bronwyn (Assistant Organizer) to let her know you will be there, so she has an accurate count of RSVP’s and your previous prepayment will be applied.
- Please note: the prepayment won’t start March.

For future reference, we will be looking into having Meetups in Elk Grove and Arlington Heights within the next few months. Once a Meetup is scheduled, you will automatically be emailed. Then, look at the location and hopefully RSVP YES!
