Learn about physical security, locks, and locking mechanisms. This month we'll be starting the 2012 Safecracking Competition. There are 13 locks in the competition; 12 Group 2 mounted locks and 1 direct-drive Sentry fire safe. The goal of the competition is to manipulate open as many locks as possible over the course of the year. I'll be a doing a sit-down and follow along demo of the manipulation process. This will include a full description of the mechanics of the dial and wheel pack and how to save time and be more accurate during manipulation.

As always, usual shenanigans; handcuffs, pin-tumbler picking, and copious amounts of MarioKart / Guitar Hero will be available. I'll also probably be bringing a number of high security cutaway locks for your viewing pleasure. Beginners are always welcome!
