Re: [limerick-open-source] September Limerick Open Source Meetup

Hey Tim,

I mentioned this group to the Hackerspace mailing list (I'm hoping to become a member when they start up) and they seemed interested.?

I might be along. We'll see. That's the first week of classes and I know I'll be busy on the Games Society committee. Looking forward to being involved with the group at some point, either way.

Hi folks!

I hope you all had a good summer.

The 'Indian Summer' that often marks the start of September seems to have
arrived. The bright days are lovely, though they're starting to get shorter.

It's time to get the Limerick Open Source Meetup ball rolling again!

Our meetings are usually on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, so I'll
schedule one for Wednesday the 8th of September. About a week away.

There are some interesting things happening in Limerick...

On the hardware side there's the Limerick Hackerspace
? ?http://groups.google.com/group/limerick-hackerspace
? ?"Interest could include:
? ?- Programming C and C++
? ?- Electronics, PCB's design
? ?- Arduino or AVR programming
? ?- Robotics"

On the software side there have been a couple of Ubuntu Hour's in
organized by Laura Czajkowski [CC'd]:

(I'd planned to go to the last one but it didn't work out, sadly.)

I'm hoping we can get some useful and interesting cross-pollination
between the groups. ?Are there any other events/groups in the Limerick
area that might be of interest?

Looking forward to seeing you on the 8th...

Tim.

p.s. If you'd like help with transport let me know. I drive in from the
Shannon area so I could easily pick up people who live on that route in.
There may be others who can help with lifts from other directions.
