To start with we will meet and discuss on how to structure the group and take it forward Agenda 1) How to take the group forward
2) Decide a Name for the group
3) Arrange for a regular meetup place
4) Talk about days and time to meet
5) Have regular meetups for the 3 different segments, Developers, Administrators and Users and to bridge the gap between them
6) Decide on issues that the group should focus on for next few weeks
7) Identify and form a core committee of organisers to make the group more pro-active.

Good start to begin with. Although only 6 people attended but we could discuss various ways of taking the group ahead. I am sure with some commitment from everyone this group will be pretty active and will serve the needs of the Linux community in Hyderabad. We need more participation from everyone

    3)Categorisation of members in future.
4)To bring similar groups onto a common platform for knowledge sharing.
(thanks Srimanyu for the input on Twincling)
5)To get in touch with memebrs of similar group through email and phone calls-to collectivelt work for common goal rather than disconcerted efforts.
6)Discussed reasons behind the success and failure of meetups-why some groups are hit and some miss the target.

We need to make this group active in small steps and it will take time, lot of commitment and consistency of meetups. Lets take the first step to begin with. Eager to see you all on Sunday.

I do not think that purely mailing or posting in different forums is going to give us much response. Why would someone respond to us? What do we offer, entertainment? Career opportunities? Excitement? We need to think about our messaging and our objectives. If we are passionate about Linux, we need to find ways to understand what drives our passion and then explore ways to spread it around.

Unfortunately, I may be out of station this Sunday. Anyone game for a Friday evening meeting?
