at St. Pancras International
Hope you have all been enjoying the late September sunshine.... We have a great line up of events for you this coming winter we kick of with a food themed return to St. Pancras International Station with all manner of culinary surprises for you from Catalan tales on food from Jordi Punti, to tricks in cooking that 'Roadkill' for when you come stuck short... by authors Jeanette Edgar and Rachel Goodwin authors of ‘The Exotic meat cookbook’, Harper Collins.
Tunes on the night will be thrown down by DJ Nettie from the all girl sound system Daft Pink.
On Thursday 24th September, from 6pm to 12am, Litro Live! returns with an exciting evening of music and the spoken word to St. Pancras International Station.
Joining us for the evening will be:
Ian Kelly, Actor, writer and presenter and author of ‘Cooking For Kings’ Casanova, Sunday Times Biography of the year. Currently filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and appearing in The Pitmen Painters at the National Theatre (Best play, Evening Standard Awards, performance of the year). ‘One of the foremost British actors of his generation’ Lord Attenborough.
Poet, Murray Lachlan Young fresh from this summers festival tour which took in the Glastonbury festival...
Sadie Jones, debut novel 'Outcast' won the 2008 Costa book Awards, follow up novel, 'Small Wars' set in Cyprus inspired by the current war in Afghanistan.
Jeanette Edgar and Rachel Goodwin authors of ‘The Exotic meat cookbook’, THE EXOTIC MEAT COOKBOOK has been put together by Jeanette Edgar and Rachel Godwin, the women behind the award-winning Alternative Meats company, and includes recipes for springbok, kudu, camel, kangaroo, ostrich, rose veal, wild boar, blesbok, crocodile and many many more.
Anita Sethi, a regular contributor to the Guardian and has written for several other publications. She is winner of an Arts Council writing award.
Jordi Punti, celebrated Catalan author will be joining us from Barcelona, talking about some of his favourite Catalan dishes, writer and journalist Jordi Puntí has published two books of short stories Armadillo Skin (Quaderns Crema, 1998), winner of the Crítica Serra d’Or Prize and Sad Animals (Quaderns Crema, 2000) which was well-received by both critics and the general public. In 2004 he received the Octavo Pellissa Prize for literary projects.
Music will be brought to you from the likes of:
Sam Margin, Soraya, Alice Gun- ‘Really beautiful and profoundly affecting’ – she plays cello for blues man Mr David Viner in a long-running collaboration which has included recording with Ed Harcourt and touring with the White Stripes.
Alice Gun is joined by her producer and Damon Albarn-collaborator Al Mobbs on double bass, Robbie Jarvis on drums and Sam Campari on everything else.
