Devil's Canyon & Deerlake Highlands in Chatsworth

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/a/c/4/event_6859140.jpegEasy-paced 8 mile loop hike begins at the north end of Canoga Avenue and meanders north through Chatsworth's Deer Lake Highlands and a network of of equestrian trails. From above the highlands Michael D. Antonovich Regional Park we will descend into Echo Canyon creating a loop with Devils Canyon. Devils Canyon with it's spectacular rock formations created 80 million years ago in a marine environment makes for a haunting yet beautiful hike. Live Oak and Willow trees fill the canyon and sandstone geology of the wildest kind is found. Total elev gain is about 800 ft Bring water, snacks, camera, sunscreen, hat and hiking shoes.

Optional Post Hike Lunch will be at Los Toros Mexican Restaurant - 21743 Devonshire St, Chatsworth, CA (From the trailhead head back down Canoga, make a right on Devonshire. It will be on right after first street.)
