Today we'll be hiking to the Jim Morrison Cave. The Doors’ Jim Morrison frequented the cave to find solace from the everyday rock star life he lived out on Sunset Strip. A few of his lyrics can be found in the cave, the inside of which has also been completely painted over and sculpted by others.

This skull is said to be carved by him

We'll get there by way of one of the best segments of the Backbone Trail. This challenging and scenic hike along the Backbone Trail offers panoramic ocean, mountain and canyon views, attractive groves of oaks and interesting geology.
