Details
http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/1/e/a/event_15173738.jpeg On June 21 at 5:16 pm the Earth's north-south axis will be tilted 23.5 degrees relative to the sun -- closer to the sun than on any other day of 2011 -- making this day the one with the most daytime hours. (The opposite is true in the Southern Hemisphere).
A perfect excuse for a hiking party! Bring food and drink to share.
We will do the Oak Creek Canyon-Los Robles-Los Padres Loop among some beautiful oak groves with great views of the Conejo Valley. That will be about 5 miles with 600' elevation gain. Fit beginners and dogs OK.
There are facilities at the trailhead including picnic tables and bathrooms. Leave food and drink in the car -- we'll be partying after the hike Directions to trailhead:
From the 101 freeway exit Moorpark Rd. Drive to the south end of Moorpark Rd, turn right on Greenmeadow Ave., and go a half mile to the parking lot.
Note: Enter Greenmeadow from Moorpark Rd. If your GPS tells you to take Lynn, ignore it!
I'll bring the infrastructure: table cloths, plasticware, plates, napkins, cups, etc....
