VIP Hike - From the Sea to the Real Mesa Peak, Wine Included

Many hiking groups promise to take you to Mesa Peak but they never do. That's because they have confused their peaks and take you to the wrong one. So come along with us to the real Mesa Peak!

Our hike will begin at the beach in Corral Canyon, the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. We will then leave Corral Canyon for my "secret trail" through pristine wilderness to the Puerco Canyon watershed divide that provides spectacular ocean and mountain views.

Will there be water in the creek by then? If not you can use this picture and your imaginations. But there will be wine!

We'll take a snack break on Mesa Peak (1,844 ft). There is even a place for us to sit down!

Hike is strenuous and about 8 miles with over 1800 ft elevation gain in the first 4 miles. Its out and back with two interweaving loops.

Post hike lunch will be at Malibu Seafood (http://www.malibuseafood.com/) - right at the trailhead.

They allow you to bring your own beverage, alcohol included -- I'll be supplying the wine today!
