Mini Conditioning Hike up Heartbreak Hill (plus a bonus hill)

Our Mini Conditioning Hikes consist of tackling those dreaded hills you happily skip on "standard" hikes. They are designed for strong hikers, and moderate hikers to test and extend themselves. They are typically short, last one to two hours, and end up on safe easy trails.
This one is a 4.5 mile loop hike into the Liberty Canyon Preserve by way of Heartbreak Hill. The first half mile contains a 500 ft elevation gain (Its not called "Heartbreak Hill" for nothing). The next mile has a couple rolling hills giving us another 150 ft and 100 ft. Maybe we will add on a bonus hill!
After that its all downhill on the Phantom Trail into Liberty Canyon. We will exit the Preserve on Liberty Canyon Trail and return to Agoura Rd along residential Liberty Canyon Rd.
We'll climb the hill as fast as we can, each at his/her own pace, and regroup at the top. Its not as bad as it sounds since the most strenuous section is short.
Bring one quart water, a rewarding snack for the top, lugsoles, hat, sunscreen.
Directions:
From Highway 101, exit on Liberty Canyon Road and drive 0.1 mile south to Agoura Road. Turn right and drive 0.3 mile. You can see the trail going uphill on your left. Park in turnout.
