"The New California Dream: A Water Recycler in Every Garage" -

Sierra California's December White Paper on Water touted greywater reuse as an important water conservation method. According to our January speaker, Bob Hitchner, Chief Marketing Officer of the US-Australian venture Nexus eWater, many homes could reduce their net water demand by 50~75,000 gallons annually through the on-site recycling of shower and laundry water. But how do we transform a market from its current condition, where water recycling is the anomaly, to a new state where it is just normal living? Bob will update us on plumbing code changes that enable more complete on-site water recycling, as well as describe the Nexus' solution and their market entry efforts. He will seek input from the Water Committee on how to accelerate the embrace of the Greywater-Ready construction by city leaders, home builders, and County Departments of Health.

I love saving water. This will be an important year to get cities and citizens to do more to reclaim and conserve water.
