黒澤明監督による「乱」のオンラインディスカッション

For the first time, I am organising an event for Japanese speakers（it's in Japanese with no translation). We meet on Zoom - so you can join us if you are in Japan or elsewhere! If you speak some Japanese or are curious, you are all welcome!

The focus of this online meeting via Zoom is Akira Kurosawa's interest in basing the story on King Lear by Shakespeare and Sanshi Kyokunjo (Letter of Instructions to Three Sons) by Motonari Mori. The main interest is that Motonari Mori's life was more dynamic and intriguing than King Lear's. His letter of instructions tells his sons to keep their family name, and that's what happened. We invite one of his descendants to share her experience meeting one of the direct descendants who still carries Mori's family name.

今回のミートアップは、黒澤明の監督による映画「乱」についての日本語によるディスカッションで、全て日本語で行われます。これは、天下の黒澤明監督が指揮を取り、巨額な制作費と９年という年月をかけ制作された大型映画で、国内外で非常に高く評価されているものです。トピックとして提案させていただきたいのは、なぜ黒澤監督は脚本を立ち上げる際、毛利元就の「三矢の教え」よりもシェークスピアのリア王に焦点を当てたのかということ。「三矢の教え」はフィクションとも言われていますが、毛利家の子孫は未だ健在。今回は、毛利家の現在の当主にもお会いになったことのある子孫のお一人もお招きしておりますので、興味深いディスカッションになればと期待しております。他、ご興味のあるトピックがございましたら、以下のチャットでご提案いただければ幸いです。
