As part of the Tech Masterclass series we're holding an introduction course to HTML5 and CSS. HTML5s core aims have been to improve the HTML language with support for the latest multimedia while keeping it easily readable by humans and consistently understood by computers and devices such as mobiles and tablets.

At TechMeetups we understand the need to always be at the forefront of technical advances that the world is embracing and we feel responsible to help our members achieve this too.

The Goal:

Take developers who have a basic knowledge of previous versions of HTML/XHTML and Javascript and to educate them about the latest developments in HTML 5, CSS3 and how they work with Javascript. You’ll be introduced to Semantic elements and exciting new elements in HTML5 that allow media functionality across various browsers without the need for Flash.

He is very much involved with the technical community, being on the organising committee for the annual conference, PHP UK and running the unconference at DPC/DMC 2012 earlier this year. He is also set to be running the unconference at PHPNW 2012, in October later this year.

John is passionate about good technical training and believes that training should be as hands on as possible with as much opportunity for one on one time with students. John is working with these evolving technologies right now and aims to bring his knowledge and experience to give students practical, real-world advice that they can apply immediately.
