on improving perceived performance of a single page app, read the twitter blog post - http://engineering.twitter.com/2012/05/improving-performance-on-twittercom.html - they did that last year after a series of studies and experiments - covers initial page view etc, optimisations in the name of "Reducing time to first tweet"

Good read! "Our JavaScript bundles are built programmatically by a tool, similar to the RequireJS optimizer", I guess we will see some of these techniques being implemeted by tools...

I think the title was a little misleading: It was really about page load times, including points about loading multiple pages. The title of "Single page app" implied something like Google Mail where the page remains open continuously and reloads, so I thought would cover memory, refreshing, going on-/off-line etc.

Yes I totally agree, I expect something different as well but many concept were somehow similar.

I agree too. Some talk on memory issues in browsers would be a very interesting area for me too.

Talk wasn't quite what I expected although for me, as a newb, it was very useful. I suspect I wouldn't have rated it as highly were I more experienced at building single page apps.

Just a note, we should have a pub sponsor this month as well. I'll post more details once this is confirmed.
