London Vegan Meetup Message Board › Menu for this Sunday at the Smithfield Tavern
Please find below the menu for this Sunday.
If you are no longer able to come could you please indacte that as soon as possible so you can free up the space for someone else? There are a lot of people on the waiting list.
It would be helpful if you could let me know in advance what roast you will be ordering so the pub has some idea of numbers.Only the butternut squash and the aubergine roasts are vegan.
Many thanks and look forward to seeing you soon.
The Smithfield Tavern
Roast £ 12.95
Two courses (starter + main/ main + dessert) £ 15.95
Three courses (starter + main + dessert) £18.95
Our selection of roasts:
Very delicate flavour, macadamia nuts gives a fresh nut taste as they are soaked overnight in water, butternut squash is roasted then mixed with quinoa and silken tofu for a creamy texture, nutritional yeast would give a slightly ‘cheesy’ taste. (Vegan and gluten free)
Stronger flavour as the goat cheese tend to predominate , radicchio gives slightly bitterness and barley is cooked till soft but firm to give a grainy texture, a hint of sage will help to combine the flavour with the squash.
Very delicate flavour, jasmine rice is oven steamed and mixed with tomatoes and herbs, mozzarella chunks would give moist and slightly sour taste, a little parmesan is added to keep mixture together and lift the taste, basil is combining all ingredients together to form a traditional Mediterranean flavour.
Stronger flavour as the Lentils and onion are cooked with herbs till just soft, tomatoes and aubergines are roasted with red wine to give a smoky flavour, and paprika and nutritional yeast help to stabilize the taste. (Vegan and gluten free)
All our roasts are coming with the following trimmings:
Roasted carrots, savoy cabbage, green beans, broccoli, roasted potato chunks with garlic and rosemary, and Yorkshire pudding.
Choose between vegetarian or vegan gravy
Daily dessert option from our pastry chef.
As this is a vegan meetup, please be sure to only order the vegan options.
I've recently heard from a couple of previously regular members who say that they're no longer planning to attend London Vegan Meetup events because of people eating non-vegan food - which rather defeats the point of having a vegan meetup group!
So please respect the group policy, and stick to vegan food at vegan meetups.

Yes, and with November being world vegan month, it makes even more sense to support and promote vegan choices ;-)
