How did you get into system administration?

I was interested in computers as a teen when my step father bought a commodore64 in 1979. Since then I had started working on fixing the scanner/scale computer systems in the grocery store that I worked at (which was AT&T SVR5 UNIX), and starting going to college to study computer science. After that I fell into fixing computer systems in small business offices locally and eventually got a job at a bank as an AIX system administrator and the rest as they say is history.

I'm Duncan Taylor. I bounce between UNIX/linux sysadmin and java programming.
