Seoul Racecourse Park and Seoul Land

Seoul Racecourse Park and Seoul Land

Details

Horse racing season is here! Just south of Seoul in Gwacheon, there is a horse racing track where you can view and bet on the races. It's not the Kentucky Derby, but it's very affordable, only 800 won for admission, and the minimum bet is only 100 won! (I usually bet 1,000 or 2,000 won per race). Some of the races happen right in front of you at Seoul Racecourse Park, and some are broadcast live from other horse racing tracks around Korea (Busan or Jeju).

After we're done watching the horse races, we can go to Seoul Grand Park, just one stop away on subway line 4. Tucked away into a corner of Seoul Grand Park is Seoul Land, a medium-sized amusement park. Seoul Land has roller coasters, drop tower, log flume, Viking, Haunted House, and many more rides to choose from. Don't expect Six Flags, but expect to have a lot of fun! Price for admission+most rides is 32,000 won. Those who pay with certain credit and debit cards (Shinhan card, most "BC" cards, some KEB credit cards) can get a 50% discount at Seoul Land. If we have a group of more than 20 people, we can get a group discount.

If people want to, we can also go to Seoul Zoo, also located inside Seoul Grand Park.

Please meet at Seoul Racecourse Park Station exit 3 at 11:00 AM. From there, we will attend the horse race for a couple of hours, then take a subway (or walk, if people prefer), to Seoul Grand Park/Seoul Land.

You don't need to pay in advance; please pay when you get there.

I'm excited to see you there!
