We extended a warm welcome to newcomers Cindy Rich and Stacey Figore.

Cindy wants to make the transition from writing scientific papers to something more creative, and I am betting her experience as a practicing psychologist will produce some very interesting characters.

Stacey, who has written one novel with two more in the works, is ready to take the next steps toward getting her work published. We talked about how the current trend is away from the traditional path of engaging an agent to present your work to an established publishing house. Self-publishing is quickly becoming a more viable way to go. Author Steve Piacente gave us a very illuminating presentation on this process in December. Much of that information is available through the links on his website:   http://www.stevepiacente.com/

Several of our members have also had some success with CreateSpace ( https://www.createspace.com/ ) and Lulu  ( http://www.lulu.com/ ).

I read my poem The High Pompitous in honor of Dr. Seuss and his quirky characters on his birthday.

We pondered the concept of waiting for our extemporaneous writing exercise, and still had time for an extra prompt swapping session.

Let the creativity flow from your soul!
