About the Speaker: Marci Alt is one of the Publishers and Chief Executive Officer of Carma Productions, Inc. In 1989, Marci relocated to Atlanta to launch a branch office of her same-sex dating service, which was based in Los Angeles. Shortly after her move, she realized the need for a resource directory to ensure members of the LGBT community are treated with the same respect as everyone else and The Gay Community Yellow Pages was born. Over the next five years, Marci successfully franchised The Gay Community Yellow Pages into seventeen cities across the country. Her stand behind GCYP has always been to unify the LGBT community with gay-friendly businesses.

In 2009, Marci and her business partner noticed an emerging trend in digital media. In 2010, launched Gayborhood, which is the first and only fully comprehensive Smartphone application for our community. Today, Gayborhood serves forty-five markets in the United States and continues to grow!

Over the years, Marci has participated in several local non-profit organizations. From advisory boards to serving on Board of Directors, Marci has been involved with Mega Family Project, Out on Film, North Georgia Rainbow Coalition, GLAAD and more! Additionally, Marci has been named AGLCC’s Business Woman of the Year, has received a nomination for NGLCC’s Business Person of the Year, and was invited to spend Easter Sunday with the President and his family at the White House.

When she’s not running her business or volunteering with a non-profit, Marci enjoys being “Mapa” to her two beautiful children; Alexandria, who is eight years old and Nicholas, who is three years old.
