Casual Talk in Mandarin (Oakridge)

The hosts of Richmond Mandarin Meetup are happy to announce that we will alternate between Richmond's Lansdowne Mall and Vancouver's Oakridge Centre weekly for our casual talk sessions.

The casual talk is more of a language exchange. Members are encouraged to learn new words/phrases, ask questions and share ideas. Native Chinese speakers will help us with pinyin, sentence structure and using proper choice of words.

Chinese ESL students are also encouraged to participate. This way both native English and Chinese speakers will be able to learn from each other.

If you have any suggestions or advice, please feel free to contact any of us or just post a comment here. We welcome all levels and we're open for feedback.

Join us for a fun learning session again in Oakridge mall!

Suggested theme topic sheets from previous meetups have been uploaded to the "files" section of our club page.

Thank you John and Lina for hosting. Driving from East Van to Oakridge and Landsdowne is always worth it. I almost won a free coffee too but unfortunately that person didn't bet in the end!

Thanks for another great meetup. Glad to have taught Lina the difference between "goggle" and "google", and the true meaning of "google".
See you all at Lansdowne next week!

I'm interested in starting a "Chinese joke of the day" tradition to start the weekly Wednesday meetings. Anyone with me? Anyone would like to participate along?

Consider post the joke online, before the meeting? This way people can get familiar with vocabulary.

My classmate just told me about this group today - I'm excited to come check it out!
