Attendance at Oakridge and Lansdowne Mall

Dear Members,

Thank you for a year of support on our weekly Wedneday night casual conversation events at Oakridge and Landowne Mall. Over the past year we've experienced significant growth in active and total members.

I would like to remind everyone that attendance is important to the organizers who volunteer their time and effort weekly. Over the past months we've witnessed many members who show up to the events but do not RSVP online, whether they are frequent regulars or occasional attendees. This is causing a problem for the hosts and we would like to explain why RSVPing and showing up is important.

1. Since we are printing out suggested theme topic sheets every 2 weeks, we would like to know in advance how many sheets to prepare.

2. Tables and chairs at the mall food court need to be occupied in advance, so we need to know how much space to accommodate.

3. RSVPing helps new members find us at the food court. First-timers usually look at the online RSVP list and then search through the food court for familiar faces or groups of people gathered that match the total attendance number.

4. RSVPing online is a great way to connect with new friends that you've made at the events. Whether it is your profile photo or description, it helps people remember you and members can check online after the event and keep in touch with you.

-RSVP if you are attending
-Don't RSVP if you aren't 100% certain in attending
-Cancel RSVP if you change your mind about attending
-Avoid last minute RSVPs. They don't help the organizers. Preferably RSVPs should be made at least 1 day in advance.

Thanks for your cooperation. Xie xie!
