An Evening With PostGIS!

Join us for an evening for a no experience required introduction to PostGIS (http://postgis.net/), the spatial extension for PostgreSQL (http://www.postgresql.org/) databases. We'll start by learning the basics of databases and why you need them in your life, then get some hands on experience by using one to perform spatial analysis.

Target Audience: anyone interested in learning about spatial analysis with PostGIS (http://postgis.net/). Beginners encouraged!

Be sure to bring your laptop! Please download and install PgAdmin (http://www.pgadmin.org/download/) and (optionally) QGIS (http://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html) so we're ready to jump right in. But don't worry, we'll be on hand to help out with installations if needed.
