Thoughts for the week

Hi everyone. I am working on revising the format for our 12 Step Buddhist group. I should have the new version ready for a try out for our meeting tomorrow, the 11th.

In doing my morning reading came across this one that I really enjoyed. Love to hear your thoughts on this...

Master Tung-kuo asked Chuang Tzu, "This thing called the Way - where does it exist?"

Chuang Tzu said, "There's no place, it doesn't exist"

"Come," said Master Tung-kuo, "you must be more specific!"

"It is in the ant"

"As low a thing as that?"

"It is in the panic grass."

"But that is lower still."

"It is in the tiles and shards."

"How can it be so low?"

"It is in the piss and shit"

Master Tung-kuo made no reply.

------ Chuang Tzu

I've also just been reading Thich Nhat Hanh's commentaries on the Heart Sutra that seem to also echo this perspective.

When I am dealing with my cravings and the places that they take me. It can certainly feel like I am living in the "piss and shit" of life. It is good to know that the path goes through there as well.
