Room to Breathe:A Workshop with Anne Kingsley Marr Sunday, May 25
This workshop explores the various dimensions of both physical and metaphysical breathing. Learning to use both ancient and modern knowledge can lead us to a path where physical lack of equilibrium becomes simply a state we recognize and learn to influence through conscious breathing. It is no surprise that mental and emotional balance are interwoven with physical well being and that again, breath, the way in which we breathe, has specific effects on the sympathetic nervous system, and the vasomotor systems, in short, all aspects of life.
Using a combination of movement and breath through non-challenging physical movements, known as Kum Nye, we will learn how we are meant to function optimally.
Kum Nye movements were originally part of Tibetan medical practice and used as preparation for meditation practice as well. They influence energetic balance through emphasis on the three principles of movement, self massage, and breath. Anne Kingsley Marr is a Buddhist practitioner of reflexology, massage, and yoga.
