Details

Hey Chicago stackers! Please join us on Thursday APR-14 as we welcome Red Hat who will be presenting on Ansible, TripleO, Heat and Ironic.

• 6PM-630PM Socialize, Network

• 630PM Presentation begins

Abstract:

TripleO, Ironic, Heat and Ansible for Openstack Deployment with Ceph and Lifecycle Management.

Deploying an OpenStack by itself can be a complex process. Extending it's functionality can contribute to a state where OpenStack Infrastructure is hard to manage and keep up to date.

TripleO is an OpenStack project to simplify OpenStack and Ceph deployment and day 2 operations. TripleO works in combination with Heat and Ironic to help deploy OpenStack on baremetal. Heat orchestrates service deployment, where Ironic controls power capabilities of baremetal. Adding Ansible to the mix enhances abilities to manage large clusters and perform day 2 operations with the deployed infrastructure.

In this sessions we will go over:

  1. Overview of TripleO and it's building blocks

  2. Integration of Heat and Ironic

  3. Pros and Cons of TripleO based deployment

  4. Using Ansible with TripleO based deployment

  5. Demo of working OpenStack and Ceph cluster deployed with TripleO
