For our November session, we're excited to have an international guest speaker, by taking advantage of Clinton Gormley's (@clintongormley (https://twitter.com/clintongormley)) presence in Melbourne.

Clint is a South African, living in Barcelona, working in the UK and proselytizing Perl and Elasticsearch all over the world. He has been influential in Elasticsearch's API design from his perspective as a Perl early adopter of ES.

For the last year Clint has been a full time Elasticsearch employee in charge of (amongst other things) "keep[ing] elasticsearch honest", training & evangelising Elasticsearch while developing the Elasticsearch Perl libraries.

Clint will be telling us all about the exciting new features in the upcoming version 1.0 of Elasticsearch as well as taking questions and answers. This should be an excellent session for anyone interested in Elasticsearch!

Not to neglect our local talent, Jack 'chendo (http://twitter.com/chendo)' Chen of Envato will be presenting Metrics Collection in Elasticsearch:

Elasticsearch's statistical facets lets you build powerful metrics collection systems. Jack will be be covering the benefits of doing so, as well as storage and retrieval basics for metric data.

As always, food and drinks will be provided before the talk as well as a great opportunity to chat with our fellow search developers and our guest speakers.

Hope to see you there!

Tal & Paul
