Hi there my fellow Muggle!

I'm super excited that there's one more fan out there who's got some Potter love inside them. I'll just tell you a few things about this awesome group so you know what to expect.

We've been around since the beginning of Potter fandom. The group was started up by an incredible lady named Shannon on October 9, 2002 and over the years the main organisation of the meetups has since been passed on to others although everyone helps out with planning of different events and we're open to any suggestions and involvement our members want to contribute! At times the meetups have been regular and sometimes there have been quiet seasons but many of our members have been around for years and years and have formed strong friendships. However we all LOVE seeing new faces to share new and amazing experiences with.

Our regular monthly meetups are usually held on a Sunday or Saturday afternoon (rotating so that everyone has a chance to attend) and you will get plenty of warning of the date and time prior to the event. Most of the time they are held at a friendly restaurant or cafe where we're free to chat loudly about the Potter series to our hearts content. Topics range from book and movie discussion, latest Potter news and the sharing of fandom topics such as A Very Potter Musical and Wizard Rock. Some of the discussion is structured... and a lot of it is venting rapidly on a month's worth of built up Potter excitement. Occasionally we go on Potter outings and sometimes special events are organised for things like movie screenings. Many of these events have been some the most memorable experiences of my life and sharing these experiences with this awesome bunch of Potter fans is what makes this group so amazing.

As well as our monthly meetups we also have weekly online chats using the facebook group chat tool. This occurs at 7pm on Tuesday nights and we do ask that the tool is not used at any other time to be respectful of all members. The rest of the time our facebook page is used by members to share topics and discuss Potter all day every day!

We are also in the process of becoming a chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance and finding out what influence our Potter love can have on the world. http://thehpalliance.org/
