Shamanism is a spiritual tradition that is at least 40,000 years old. It is considered to be the root of all modern religions and philosophies. The essence of Shamanism is unity.

The word "shaman" comes from the Tungus language word šamān, which roughly means "one who knows". Shamans are healers because they can see many angles of a situation, and they can offer alternative approaches and solutions to seemingly impossible or incurable problems. A shaman sees all views and perspectives as correct, and understands that each perspective has its own order and place - it is a unique angle to approach reality.

Shamanism is an ancient tradition of experiencing reality directly - a shaman respects all things, honors all of life. Shamanism also teaches us how to enter the world of spirit, and awaken our own deepest essence - our soul. This is the part of us that is truly free and when we are connected our life becomes a greater and greater joy - which comes from the inside and nothing can take away.

One learns what it means to be a Shaman through direct experience, rituals, practices, and knowledge.
