This group merged with another group, The Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group. There is usually about 6 hikes every Sat. AND Sun. along with several weekday and afterwork hikes throughought the region offerd in all four seasons. We are not a "for profit" group and volunteer run as any money received is not kept by me as the organizer and either donated to where we hike or put towards training and certifiying new members of our leadership team. The Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group is a big group with over almost 7000 members, but with a small group feel because we limit the number of hikers per leader/sweeper team in addition to offering multiple paces per hike. This way you will not hike with more than a group of 15 hikers who hike the same pace as you! Safety on the trail is our greatest focus, but is closely followed by our commitment to camaraderie within the group and we take pride not only the diversity of our hikes, leaders/sweepers, leadership team, members, but also our hikes. Volunteer work and trail maintenance is a very large part of our mission and every year over 1000 hours of community service is provided by our very active members. Please check us out and read our Group Reviews and see if we are a good fit for you. If you like what you see, we would be pleased to have you join us at www.midatlantichikers.com.
