Weekend in London: Friday 10th July - Sunday 12th July

Hi all,

Just an update on the weekend in London which some of you may have spotted on the webpage!

There are a number of travelodges available in the centre of London over the Friday and Saturday. A family room will have both a sofa bed and bed (effectively room for two people) with en suite bathroom.

The average cost for a Friday night is around ?50 for the room (so ?25 each) with Saturday coming in slightly more at ?80 per night (so ?40 each).

The plan would be to head down to London on the Friday afternoon/evening depending on work. Check in is from 3pm. Not sure if there would be time to do much on the Friday (other than have a quick drink locally) although I guess it depends what time everyone can get there.

The saturday could be spent doing a couple of museums, art galleries, sitting in Leicester Square watching the world go buy having a coffee, that sort of thing! Then as the evening ensues, a night out in Soho/Leicester Square/West End. Sunday could easily be more sight seeing or something else - maybe a show? Then head home some time later on Sunday.

How does that sound?!

Anyway, if you're interested please:

a) update your RSVP to YES or contact me first if you wish. Thanks to everyone who has RSVP's so far.

b) let me know if you're ok with the the loose itinerary so far, travelodge idea and (if you want) share a room to keep costs down.

Transport will most likely be a train direct to London Euston. See www.thetrainline.co.uk. At the moment, for me, Stafford return is coming up as only ?26 but you need to book quickly.

Any other ideas, comments or queries, please let me know!

Cheers

Shaun
