Do you have 25+ pounds to lose - again? Are you "in control" or "good" sometimes and "bad" or binge eating at other times? Does this cycle ring any bells?
Want to achieve a healthy weight but tired of diets? Go back to basics. It's a simple concept - eat when you are hungry, stop eating when you are satiated, and enjoy and experience every mouthful. Easier said than done with hectic workdays filled with thousands of obligations. But I'd like to work the process with others who, using food to self-comfort and a myriad of reasons not related to hunger, have forgotten how to savor the foods available and who have restricted their diets off and on for years. Sound familiar?
The purpose is to get in touch with our bodies and recognize its signals. It's also to stop making food such a priority and dieting according to good and bad foods. Foods are only bad if eaten to excess.
I've read an incredible book, "Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat," by Dr. Michelle May. But I think I'd be more successful at achieving the goals if I practiced the techniques with others who eat for reasons other than hunger. That describe you?
If you've been on and off diets for years, maybe it is time to stop dieting and start eating by listening to your body. Personally, I'm so tired of trying to stick to a diet that I find this philosophy refreshing. Imagine not checking out a menu before you agree to go out with your friends. Sound intriguing?
I am not an expert or a facilitator. I'm someone who has eaten for every reason but hunger for years and want to stop the madness. Interested?
The group's intention is not to exclude anyone. If you happen to be in a control cycle and a healthy, normal weight, the group is not going to address your needs. The group's members are all attempting to address the underlying issues of their overweight and obesity. Thank you for your interest and best of luck!
