Newbie Night XVIII - Thursday, April 21, 7:00 p.m., Java Train, St. Paul

For those who have just joined the Minnesota Atheists Meetup, and for those who have not yet had a chance to meet their fellow nonbelievers, we are pleased to announce the eighteenth in our popular series of Newbie Meetups.

Newbie Nights are specifically designed for those who've never attended an MNA Meetup before or haven't had much opportunity to interact with other MNA Meetup members. It can be intimidating to be the only person in the room who doesn't know anybody else, so here's an event where EVERYONE has come to meet like-minded people they've never met before. Three small group discussions with conversation topics provided will give you a chance to meet lots of new, like-minded people. We've reserved one of the downstairs meeting rooms at the fabulous Java Train Café (The Southern Railway Room, to be precise) until 9:00 p.m. Street parking is available, but you may have to walk a block.

Java Train is located on a side street between the State Fairgrounds and Como Zoo. They don't charge us to reserve the space because we're a nonprofit organization, but ask us to reward their kindness by purchasing a beverage, snack, or meal. They have a full menu, featuring dinners, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts (including many flavors of ice cream and one of their specialties, Chef Katie's Whoopie Pies). Check out their website for more information:

Past Newbie Nights have filled up fairly quickly, so don't delay your RSVP if you're fairly certain you can make it. We've reserved for 20 and ask that you keep your RSVP updated if your plans change, so another Newbie can take your place!

It's always fun to meet new nonbelievers, and this was a great group. I hope to see you all again at other events, and invite any questions and comments.

I enjoyed the meetup. It was nice to meet some nice atheist folks like myself and I hope to see them again in the future!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
