Welcome to a Book Club for young professional women in the Rochester area.

We read one book a month; meet at a coffee shop (or outside during the summer) to discuss and socialize, and then also have some social events in between book meetings throughout the month. Age group geared toward 20's, 30's and 40's.

Book selection rules:

1. All books must be secular and non religious, we won't be reading the "Heaven is for real" kind of book.

2. NO classics, books should preferably have been published in the past 30 years. As much as I love Fahrenheit 451, this book club is to explore new and current writing and perspectives.

3. No chic lit, cheap romance or "adult" fiction. 100% no shades of any color. If this is your thing, no offence, you won't fit in with this crowd.

Also,

As a group of women, we do require a photo and after a prolonged period of inactivity we will boot members from the group (just a safety issue.) Try to be respectful of the group, if you RSVP for the book talks specifically or a space limited event try to show up or let someone know you can't make it.

If you want to add books you are welcome to join the good reads group as well: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/117484-coffee-and-modern-lit-chics (we have this to keep track of our bookshelf) And you can see what we've read in the past.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
