Go to Fat Cat on Saturdays

Go at the Fat Cat every other Saturday at 12:30 PM There are two go boards available, but you have to ask for them. Just in case, it is recommended that you bring your own board.

Its a great chance to listen to some jazz, play a few games and even have a drink or two. Fat cat has a decent selection of beers, and allows people to bring in their own food. If you have been you know its great, if you have never been yet, now is a good time to start.

If you RSVP, you should get reminder emails 6d and 1d before to let you know where and when to go to avoid confusion.

Just got an email from resobox saying how there's a block party thing at LIC that week, http://www.licartsopen.org/ so they won't be around until 4ish and later (their samurai group is performing). So we can either go later, or go visit the fair. We'll just play it by ear.

@Sophie: you could try this site:
    http://playgo.to/iwtg/en/
It's all java demo stuff, so it's nice and interactive :)
I also remember playing igowin (http://www.smart-games.com/igowin.html) a lot when I was starting out.

@Randy: I guess we'd be leaving around 2:30ish? It sounds like fun :)

Don't worry too much about things, I've got a like 5-minute basic rules "lesson" I've been refining over the years, and can spend time just teaching. As FYI, the gallery space that's invited us to visit is http://resobox.com/ and I've informed them that I might drop by around 3pm(ish). You guys are welcome to tag along if you want.

We've got a gallery of Japanese arts/culture in Long Island City that asked if we'd like to use their space for some stuff (I'm thinking small workshops, maybe). I have to make arrangements but I might want to go visit later in the day.
