Pedernales Falls State Park TRAIL BUILD & RIDE!
EARN PAYDIRT! Bring your forms.
FREE CAMPING AVAILABLE Wednesday night. Please contact me if you want to camp.
Build and RIDE NEW TRAIL that Austin Ridge Riders is building at the park.
MEET AT THE EQUESTRIAN CAMP GATE off CR 201. Equestrian Camp is shown on bottom of this map by a symbol of a horse with tent: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/pwdpubs/media/park_maps/pwd_mp_p4507_0026n.pdf
Meet at Equestrian Camp gate (labeled 'gate' along CR 201 at bottom of map)
We will promptly drive to staging area on southern most of the three 'UTILITY R.O.W.' just south of 'High Point'.
We will be building along the 1100' contour just north of 'High Point' on the map.. If arriving late, look for green ribbons in trees leading to the staging and build area.
If you are running late, enter the gate and head north past the equestrian camp to the first pipeline corridor. Take a left (west) down the corridor and look for a red Honda Fit. The staging area will be on a well worn doubletrack along the southern pipeline (labeled UTILITY ROW on the map) From the staging area we will hike north on the horse trail to the 1100' contour elevation and build to the east. You can try to call me at 450 1139 but reception is spotty in the park.
NO TRAIL BUILDING EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Austin Ridge Riders will provide tools & guidance for volunteers, as well as a prize raffle after the work. Volunteers get into the park for free on trail building days.
If it's been a long time since you have built trail, or if you have never built trail, please give it a try. It's very rewarding to see a new trail take shape that many riders will enjoy for years to come. If it's your first time building trail, you may be surprised how fun and rewarding it is to be part of building a trail that will be enjoyed by future riders for generations.
Wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves if you have them. We have extra gloves for those who need them. Bring your hydration pack or water jug to carry with you.
