100km of Reveille Peak Ranch - ATX100K Six-Pack Series endurance race #3
Details
This event location has moved to Reveille Peak Ranch which is a Moab-ish type riding experience with all the slickrock. It also drains super fast and the rocks do not get very slickery when wet unlike the limestone of Reimer's.
This venue charges $10 per participant at the gate, bring exact change!
Meet at the Pavilion at 7:30am for a briefing then we will start the first group at around 7:45am. There will be a hard cut-off to start the final lap at 6pm.
This ride is still self supported, but the facilities are much nicer.
The route will be developed, mileage tested, and marked today after this last round of rain and will be either four laps or five laps and "around" 100k long. There will be more total elevation gain here, and you will have a somewhat slower average speed as it has more technical sections (not necessarily harder, just more).
Feel free to funnel any questions you have to the comment section below. An organizer will answer them as able.
The pain continues in the ATX100K Six-Pack Series. This will be a 100km+ ride all in a single day on one of the great local trail venues, Reveille Peak Ranch. The TMBRA Spring season is over and its time to get some fun miles in!
The Six-Pack Series is a grassroots effort bringing organized long-distance/endurance mountain-biking to any riders who wish to participate and on any bicycle they deem fit. It is free to enter, and is an unsupported ride where participants are pit against themselves and the terrain. If you finish, you win! Finish three of the six venues including the finale at Emma Long, and you will have the opportunity to purchase a commemorative jersey. If you finish all six, there will be something even more special available.
It will be May, it will be warm, so we will start early. Please meet at the Pavilion at 7:30am for a safety brief, introduction, and graduated start (no en-masse start) with groups leaving a five-ish minutes apart each. Have someone you want to ride with? No trouble. We will have a sign up sheet for the different groups.
There will be base-line times set ahead of the ride to detect any course cutters. Those suspected of cutting the course may lose credit for any laps that look especially suspect unless there is a GPX or Strava track to support their heroic speeds.
------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a day-use fee for the park of $10 per participant. Please make sure you bring enough cash to cover this. Bring EXACT CHANGE please!
NO GLASS CONTAINERS!
Warning: ride at your own risk!! Mountain-biking is dangerous and after hours in the saddle, even more so. There will be no paramedics on site, no promise that anyone will help you fix yourself or your bike in the event of an incident, so bring what you need to keep yourself and your bike going. Reveille has some dangerous rocky sections.

What to Bring:
This event, like the others is grassroots and self-supported. That's why it is free to enter. There are no "feed" stations and we may or may not have vendors on site to assist with maintenance and repairs. With that in mind, some of the things you need to bring are as follows:
Any bike or bikes you can finish the distance on. There is no stipulation that your steed has to be a "mountain bike", only that it is 100% human powered by you. Bring a back-up bike if you want. Be prepared for lots of rocks. Water, and lots of it. Expect to burn through three to six gallons. You are responsible for your own water intake. Electrolytes and whatever other nutritional solutions you need. You are responsible for your own nutrition. Helmet, gloves, sunscreen, and any other protective gear you feel you need. You are responsible for your own safety. Tools, extra tubes, extra derailleur hanger, extra chain links, etc... Whatever you need to keep your bike(s) operational. You are responsible for your own repairs. Anything you might need for first aid. There will be no EMS on station, no first-aid tent, etc. We will call 911 for you if needed, but otherwise you tend your own wounds.
Riders will sign waivers accepting complete responsibility for themselves.
