Smedley Park & Swarthmore College

I've recently started exploring Smedley Park and now it's time to link that into Swarthmore College. Both have well-shaded single track.

This meetup is not suited for beginners. If you have ridden with me at Pennypack, Wissahickon, or Noxamixon, you should be fine here. After the ride, I plan to stop at Pinocchio's Beer Garden and Restaurant (great beer and food).

If you have a bike lock, please bring it.

Lights not required (until at least August). Done by 8pm or so.

That shifting problem I had on the climb out? Fixed by the shop this afternoon. Very quick.

Next week: we'll avoid that long ugly track north to Sproul Rd. Instead, we'll start off with a loop into Swarthmore.

I see rain in the forecast, but looking at the radar map, it is not headed here.

How do you get to Smedley Park from Jackson St? I know you can access the Park via Pine Ridge Rd off of Baltimore Pike. I normally park at the trolley station. And there's a trail head across the street that leads to a short single track that leads directly into the park.

      We ride on the streets.

I chose Jackson street for several reasons: plenty of available parking in a quiet area; no need to move the cars after riding and before refreshments; it's close to my place.

I'm a local rider and hope to make it. I'll update when I know for sure. I'm happy to see there are other Delco riders.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
