I don't want to clog up everyone's email boxes, so this is the only announcement from the Film Meetup group about the forthcoming Leeds International Film Festival for 2016

I've scheduled seventeen movies on our website, these are all definite meetups. This looks the best ever Festival in my opinion, there are easily 25-30 movies that hit the spot, and that is without searching that hard!!

How to get tickets for LIFF29 movies... Firstly, note their website address is http://www.leedsfilm.com/ - you can get every scrap of info you need from there. However, note that you cannot turn up for a movie at the last minute and expect to get in, the official line is that you must get there at least an hour in advance, although I am not sure how strictly that will be enforced.

You cannot buy tickets from the venue prior to the actual day, you must get them from Carriageworks box office in Millennium Square. The good news is that they are cheaper than tickets would normally cost for Vue & Everyman, at £8 a shot, or £6 discount, regardless of the venue. I think some events cost more, such as Day Of The Dead, as there are multiple movies on offer. Some events are free but I've not scheduled any of them.

I've got a pass for the event already, this costs £95 (or £85 each if you team up with a friend). Note that if you plan to see 8-10 movies I'd recommend the pass because then you will feel like taking a risk on some of the others. However, having a pass does NOT guarantee you tickets for any particular movie, you still need to get your ticket, in the same way, before it sells out.

The opening and closing galas will sell out and so will some of the movies at Everyman, purely because it is a small cinema. Black Mass and Son of Saul may also sell out, in my opinion. You should get your tickets for these busy screenings well in advance, from the Carriageworks box office.

There are no ads or trailers before LIFF29 movies, meet 10 mins before the event. See our Discussion board for the standard meetup points. Newbees - Use Frankie's mobile to help meetup, 07985 780284.

If you want to attend the movies please do not add your name to this event, find the movie on the Calendar and put your name down there instead.
