"Gentle" yoga does not mean "easy" yoga. The strength developed in this practice is beyond mere physical strength. Moving slowly and holding poses often brings us powerfully face to face with our physical, mental and emotional "edges." A gentle practice seeks to bring the precepts of loving-kindness and non-harming into the development of physical, emotional and spiritual strength. In this way, the body becomes the vehicle for, rather than an obstacle to, spiritual awakening.
We practice a gentle, meditative approach to opening the body with mindfulness and prana, while focusing on the basics of alignment. Suitable for all levels of experience.
Join me for this blissful practice. Discover how physically challenging - and freeing - a mindful and gentle approach to movement can be!
We meet at Unity of the Light, each Monday evening, 5:30 to 7pm. Class is $10. Correct change or check only at this time.
Class is 90 minutes. This class is a mindful, in-depth exploration of alignment and breath, opening and releasing to improve flexibility and build strength while dissolving stress. This practice is designed for all levels of experience with yoga, and is suitable for those new or returning to yoga, anyone interested in a more meditative approach to yoga, and for those interested in increasing flexibility to balance athletic training.
