Introduction by the organizers
9:30 - 10.30am Getting Started with SharePoint Framework (Malin de Silva)
SharePoint Framework supports interacting with SharePoint data and related services through a fully client-side development model. The controls are rendered in the normal page DOM. With the support of responsive set of controls and with the ability to develop through any open source IDE, it makes a development framework for everyone. In this session we will discuss on how to start development with SharePoint Framework and the advantages of it.
10.40 - 11.40am Introduction to Microsoft Teams, the New Digital Workspace (Joel Oleson)
In the session I'll discuss team work and productivity tools including Office 365 groups, SharePoint sites, Yammer and Teams for when to use what. ECM has evolved and we will discuss ways to become more agile and make more informed decisions quickly. We will explore the deployment considerations, security and information architecture and governance for Teams.
11.50am - 12.50pm Best Practices when migrating legacy ECM systems (Chris Givens)
Despite what tool you use to migrate your data, you will always need to consider the basic project elements of a migration. This includes thinking about how you will build your business rules, how many iterations you will need to perform, patterns for setup of the Managed Metadata Service, and many more topics. Chris will walk you through all the things you should consider when migrating your data from old systems to new ones such as SharePoint, Office 365 or Azure Storage with Azure Search.
12.50 - 1.20pm Lunch
Lunch will be provided
1.20 - 2.20pm Office 365: A Detailed Analysis (Michael Noel)
