the Monthly ROMP: Grizzly Flat--all level group ride!
Hosted by Silicon Valley Mountain Bikers
Details
Hello Riders,
http://media.weekendsherpa.com/static/uploads/story_images/saratoga_gap_story.pngThis month we'll ride from the Grizzly Flat parking lot on Skyline into the Long Ridge and Saratoga Gap open space preserves and Upper Stevens Creek park. We may even explore some new, recently opened trail in Castle Rock State Park. We'll have a beginner ride leader, intermediate leaders, and depending on the group, we can also do a more advanced ride.
Please RSVP so we have an estimate of group size. (If you'd rather not use meetup, email lkg_456@yahoo.com!)
The Nitty Gritty--read me!
Meet at 9:30, be ready to ride at 10:00. This is a social ride and some single track skills are required. We'll split into groups, regroup as needed within each group, and ride at a casual pace for about 2.5 hours.
This is classic California coastal ridge trail riding and most of the climbing is already done, since we start on top of the ridge. We'll have a gentle ride in addition to harder rides with plenty of climbing if you like. Our gentle group might get back a little earlier than the faster riders, but that's ok - our goal is a safe, fun ride for all.
We all ride with helmets--don't forget yours.
Rain will cancel. Check this listing the morning of the ride. We will post a weather update by 7 AM if we need to cancel.
A Release of Liability Waiver will require your signature.
Be prepared for summer coastal FOG. Bring appropriate warm clothing.
Please stay with the ride leaders.
We'll be serving food and beverages after the ride!
