For our June meetup, we will talk about how to integrate three interesting topics: data, sports and video games. We’ll also discuss the ongoing Montreal (Open) Data Challenge and conclude this months (O)DBC looking at the enron email corpus.

6:30 - Nicolas Kruchten will present an analysis of 1.2 million 311 service requests received by the City of Montreal between 2008 and 2012 using PivotTable.js, an in-browser pivot table.

The book "Moneyball: The Art Of Winning An Unfair Game" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moneyball) inspired many people and showed how to merge two passions: sports and data. In this presentation I will show how I added a third passion (video games) to the mix and was able to play "Moneyball" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moneyball) as a Manager on EA Fifa 2015.
