Details

The February 2013 MUGL will feature one of our favorite speakers, John Snelson of MarkLogic. John was the very first MUGL speaker nearly two years ago. John's presentations are always informative and entertaining.

John's topic this time around will be XQuery 3.0. The most recent version of MarkLogic (6.0) already contains many features of XQuery 3.0. John will discuss what's in the XQuery 3.0 standard and which of those new language features are available now in MarkLogic 6.0.

Jem Rayfield, who gave a talk at the MUGL a few months ago about the MarkLogic-based system he built at the BCC for the Olympics, will give us an update on how things actually went during the big event.

Many members of the MUGL recently attended XML Prague. We may have updates from some of them at this meeting as well.

There may also be an announcement about a new XML event upcoming later this year.

As always, MUGL meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend. Food and drink are free and we have a private upstairs room at the Theodore Bullfrog pub near Charing Cross.

The MUGL is the largest MarkLogic User Group in the world (144 members at last count) and the premier event for networking with people interested in MarkLogic, XML, XML Databases, XQuery, XSLT, Semantic or anything related.

If you plan to attend, please signup on the MeetUp site so we can get an accurate head count.

See you there: Tuesday, February 26.
