MarkLogic World 2014 is now history and Spring is here (as evidenced by the sunburned Brits in attendance at ML World) so that means, obviously, that it's time to celebrate.

The next MUGL is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, at our favorite hangout and our guest speaker will be returning champion Jim Fuller (@xquery) talking about the REST.xq library that he wrote (based on co-champion Adam Retter's XML Prague paper). John (@jpcs) Snelson will also repeat his seven minute Lightning Talk from ML World to warm up the crowd.

Jim's abstract:

RXQ implements RESTXQ which is a standard set of annotations that are used to add meta data to xquery functions, enabling them to respond and interact with HTTP requests in the MarkLogic server. I will demonstrate a series of examples of increasing complexity built using RXQ.

Along the way I will offer opinions on REST, HATEOS and the future directions of enterprise REST interfaces and related challenges.

John's quick talk is on Semantics, but we may convince him to recap some of the announcements made at MarkLogic World as well.

We're at our favorite place, the Theodore Bullfrog Pub near Charing Cross. Free food and drink as usual, and comradery free of charge as well. Join us at around 6:30pm, we'll get started at 7:00pm, sunburns optional.
