For real big data analyses you have to access your data in your preferred database on the fly. In this talk I will give a short overview about the available R connections to MongoDB, statistical challenges growing from NoSQL and present some big data analyses using R and MongoDB.

An introduction to how information presented on publicly available websites can be automatically retrieved and systematically processed with R in order to gain insights that provide an additional value for certain analytical company tasks such as market monitoring.

The use of graphical processing units (GPUs) has recently advanced different areas in computer science, such as automatic speech recognition and cryptography, and lead to a use of new or different algorithms.
GPU computing is nowadays available on most standard computers, as for example Nvidia delivers with its CUDA architecture a common access to GPU computing.
We want to show how to speed up your R algorithms by using the GPU. Starting with simple tasks as vector and matrix operations and advancing to machine learning algorithms as support vector machines (SVM).
