Masterpieces of Buddhist Art: Representing the Sublime

Nezu Museum was built to house the personal collection of the industrialist and president of Tobu Railway, NEZU Kaichiro. The facility went through a 3 and half years of renovation process and re-opened last October. I have heard great things about this museum and have been waiting for the opportunity for me to visit there. Now the museum is hosting an interesting exhibition of Buddhist art. The exhibition showcases about 30 pieces selected from more than 500 religious art works in the Nezu collection. The work I am particularity interested in seeing is "Eighty-one deity mandala of the adamantine realm," which was created during the Kamakura period and is designated as Important Cultural Property. I hope some of you are interested in checking out this exhibition along with other works in their collection in the new museum building and garden with me.
