Marijuana Facts

A) Ohio & US Government classifies marijuana as a Schedule 1 forbidden drug because it is deadly, addictive with no medical use. (see exact  definition below)
1.The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
2.The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
3.There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision

B) In Ohio courts a cancer patient is prohibited from telling a jury that they are using marijuana with their doctor’s support due to 1997’s Senate Bill 2.

C) Thirty Five percent of the United states population lives in a state that now have medical marijuana laws.  They are Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and Washington DC.

Polling indicates 73% of Ohioans support medical marijuana. Ohio has had 4 medical marijuana bills introduced but only one has had a single hearing and that  was mandatory because it was a State Senate bill..

D) Two states Colorado and Washington have now legalized marijuana for the state to tax regulate and control.

A) Do you agree  with Ohio and the Federal Government  classification that marijuana is deadly, addictive with no medical use ?

B) Do you think cancer patients should be prohibited from  telling a jury that they have cancer and are using marijuana with their doctor’s support?

C) Would you support  a medical marijuana bill here in Ohio via a resolution in City Council or sponsoring a bill in Columbus?

E) Do you think the Drug War is a failure and we need to start an open and honest discussion on this subject starting with marijuana?
