John Ross is a professional photo retoucher specializing in portrait, product, and scenic image retouching. Past clients have included agencies such as Arnolds, Alcone, BBDO, Bose, Snuggle and Volkswagon.

John Ross runs a Meetup group that teaches photo retouching and manipulation through well structured workshops. Check out his group at The Art of Retouching Studio, CT. To see some of his work or check out some of his free online tutorials check out The Art of Retouching

About the Q&A Session: This meet up is an informal chat with Mr. Ross where you get a chance to listen to inside stories, photo editing hints and tips and real world accounts of what it's like to be a working professional photo retoucher.

Mr. Ross will explain the difference between simple photo edits and a complete makeover from a professional. He will explain the pros and cons of hiring an retoucher and is open to answering questions about what it takes to manipulate digital images, from software to how to approach a project to dealing with customers.

If you are a photographer and are unsure of how to edit your images to make them stand out, this is your opportunity to learn. If you understand your limitations but want to take your photos to the next level, this is the chance to find out what it takes.

Seating is very limited so sign up soon to guarantee a seat. Please RSVP only if you plan on attending. We don't want anyone missing out because you decided not to show up.

This is going to be an informal session. I will be showing several images and pointing out what retouching works and what doesn't, in the final images. I will also be showing some before and after with all the layers in between. If anyone brings their own images, we could discuss what they should be focusing on, for best results. I am not quite sure how long it is going to be, so that will determine how in depth we get.

I would love to come because I am currently learning how to retouch my photos on my own but not sure what to bring besides my camera, a pen and paper. Also, how do we pay for this? Do we pay when we get there or ahead of time?
