Leap Year Laughs, Asian Potluck, and Games
Details
I wish this extra day was truly "extra," existing in a void where we had no other responsibilities and could just enjoy the day, but I'm sure to our employers, families and the rest of the world it's just another day where we have to take care of business. However, it sounds like a reason to party to me!
I don't know of anything specific you're supposed to celebrate on Leap Day, so I just made it up - maybe we'll start a tradition - let's do an Asian potluck - make or buy an Asian cuisine themed dish and bring it to share; also, if you've got any good jokes, bring those, that will be the "laughs" part, and we'll also play board games - I've got a huge collection, so whatever looks interesting to people we'll play it. Also, if you've got any goals or projects you want to "leap into" this year, use this day to focus on those - and if you want to tell us about those and get some encouragement, we'll be happy to be supportive!
So yeah, a mishmash of a party theme, but whatever, we'll have a good time as always.
I'll provide all the drinks - sodas, water, tea, coffee - and "Leap Year Lemonade" cocktails - a special spiked concoction that I will test and develop before the event.
There are several cats in the house, so if you are allergic, take that into consideration.http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/e/4/c/event_87671852.jpeg
